Since giving me instruction is like talking to a brick wall, I’m always mildly surprised when anything comes of my attempts to make book covers for my friends, but I was particularly proud of the cover I made this week and wanted to share it.
This cover is for the short story, Wishing for Grace by Inez Kelley.
It’s a follow up to her Carina Press release, Turn It Up.
I like the image Inez chose. The chubby little hand, the light, all of it. I read the short, too. Even without having read Turn It Up (which released today), the short made me misty-eyed.
I went supply shopping with DD today. We still have more to buy, but we got the basics. When we hit Target, they had three-pack notebooks for a dime. I.Loaded.Up. I burn through notebooks like crazy, whether I’m plotting, doodling, making notes, doodling, or…um…doodling. I can’t write outside of Word, but I think better when I put pencil to paper. Small comforts, huh?

I saw Moira Rogers tweet about Kindlegraphs tonight, and I Googled them. It’s a given if she/they tweeted it, it’s cool. I just didn’t know how cool until I pulled up the Kindlegraph website.
How you do it:
