I am so excited to announce that A Hint of Frost won the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence in the FFP category!

 

Dad loved Frost so much, and he badgered me into entering a few contests with it last year. So far it’s finaled in all of them, but this is its first win. It’s the first time I’ve ever won an award. I just wish Dad was still here to try and steal it from me.

 

When it arrives, I’ll post a picture. Exciting times.

So…Bree and Donna have lured me into trying all sorts of things.

 

Their most recent adventure was making their own nail polish. Now, I love nail polish and I was thrilled to get the chance to make my own. But…my allergies went nuts while I was mixing it. Once I stopped sneezing and could breathe again, I started thinking about Sasha’s friend Pam who runs her own indie nail polish shop on Etsy.

 

I knew Pam was making Sasha custom polish, so I decided I would force Pam to do my bidding too! Yay!

 

This is what Pam mixed up for me. Each color is based on a heroine from my Araneae Nation series, with the exception of the black polish. It’s named after everyone’s favorite antihero, Vaughn.

 

 

This black base (center picture) is Vaughn-derful.

 

The clear topcoat with gold flakies (seen on the left) is Lourdes-ing It Over You.

 

The holographic topcoat (seen on the right) is No More Shady Kaidi.

 

 

This emerald (center picture) is Hasta Mana-na.

Y’all, I thought I had such a bright idea adding a review request form to my website. You know what might have helped? If I turned the notifications on. *face palm* I can’t believe I did that–worse yet that I just realized it.

 

My website was hacked last week and I ended up updating all of my information. That’s when I noticed the form notification problem and I enabled it. Until then, I assumed I had no responses on the form. Then today a dozen backlogged requests popped into my inbox. So now I’m emailing everyone with an apology and, in qualifying cases, copies of the books they requested.

 

I am so embarrassed this happened and people are getting books they requested several months ago, but at least the problem is fixed for next time. I’ve been receiving requests for A Time of Dying, so everything looks to be working as it should. *thumbs up*
