I had an exciting week. I turned thirty on Thursday and got my first pair of glasses on Friday.
The first thing I noticed? Trees have leaves! Not green blobs!
Memories from his enslavement scrubbed his thoughts raw. Drawing his glamour closer, he exhaled through the tightness in his throat and unfastened the top buttons of his shirt. No collar. No choke chain. No reason to panic. Breathe.

I am so ready to get back to writing this story. I’m free from Evermine until FLE arrive on the 27th. I have first round edits on A Hint of Frost due on the 25th. Maybe if someone adds a few more hours in the day, I’ll get some new words written on this before the end of the month.
With trembling fingers, I reached into my bag and withdrew the envelope. Tucked into the crease was a lock of chestnut hair with a slight curl at the end. Fumbling in a different pocket, I withdrew a similar strand and compared the lengths. One hung slightly longer than the other. “It’s past midnight.” Her cheeks were rosy from windburn. “No one will notice.”

I went supply shopping with DD today. We still have more to buy, but we got the basics. When we hit Target, they had three-pack notebooks for a dime. I.Loaded.Up. I burn through notebooks like crazy, whether I’m plotting, doodling, making notes, doodling, or…um…doodling. I can’t write outside of Word, but I think better when I put pencil to paper. Small comforts, huh?
This excerpt is from Dillon’s still unnamed book. (Top choices this week include: Evercure, Evercraft, Everything, Eversworn…) Anyway, here’s my six.
“And Isabeau?”
She hesitated before turning. “Yes?”
“Take the shirt off.” His voice turned hoarse. “Leave the rest.”
