I’m back to work on Wicked this week. This excerpt is one I’m sure many people have seen before, but I’m posting from sections I’ve already revised.
Plus, this is one of my favorite parts of the book. The entire first chapter is like magic. 🙂
He watched with morbid fascination as momentum carried the truck through the intersection and into oncoming traffic.
Tensing his shoulders in anticipation, he flinched as the truck plowed into the side of a sleek van with a sickening crunch of steel on steel. Metallic screams filled his ears as both vehicles exploded through the guardrail and vanished from sight.
This sort of thing happened several times a day, all over the world. Natural selection aided by modern machinery. It was none of his business.
You can check out more excerpts on the official Six Sentence Sunday site, or check out a couple of the regular contributors.
I also thought I’d share my new desktop wallpaper… Say hello to Nathaniel.

Thanks, Dee! I've found revisions are easier with Nathaniel for company. 😉
And hey! That's cheating! It's not like I've ever *coughs* changed excerpts five times before posting *coughs* but who's counting, right?
Stacey Kennedy says
